Summer Self-Care Tips

Summer is here! With many of us being stuck inside over the past year, it’s time to switch up our routines. Get ready to try new activities, be adventurous, and make well-being a priority. Here are ten self-care tips to have the best summer ever!

1. Enjoy the Great Outdoors

Whether you want to soak up the sun or relax under the stars, we can't deny that a bit of fresh air helps to clear the mind. Immerse yourself in the natural environment by enjoying a hike, relaxing in a hammock, or even having a picnic in the park. Let Mother Nature work her magic.

At-Home Spa Day2. Do an At-Home Spa Day

Spa days can come at a steep price, so why not bring the spa to your own home? Put on a fluffy robe, light a soothing candle, and relax with your Happy Dance products. Soak in the tub with a Stress Away Bath Bomb, apply the Head-To-Toe Coconut Melt as a deep-conditioning hair treatment, and hydrate your skin with the Whipped Body Butter. Your body will feel super relaxed and ready to take on the world. Tidy Up3. Tidy Up

There's nothing more stressful than coming home to a mess after a long day. We know that cleaning may not be the most fun thing to do, but when you clear clutter, your mind feels better. Organization can help put you at ease and give an overall sense of calm. Who knows? You might even find that earring you lost!

Friendship4. Reconnect with a Friend

Social distancing during the pandemic certainly threw a few wrenches in relationships. If it's been a while since you’ve seen friends, give them a call or meet up for coffee. The past year has been different for everybody, so take the reentry process at your own pace. As always, check CDC guidelines and respect others’ preferences, such as touching and wearing masks.

Digital Detox5. Put Down Your Phone

Who needs a digital detox? Everyone. We live in a world where we can be reached at any moment throughout the day. You deserve time to focus on real-life interactions. Turn off your smartphone, television, tablet, and computer. It'll be challenging in the beginning, especially if you're addicted to your devices, but reducing your time with tech will reduce stress.

Grow a Garden6. Grow a Garden

The idea of starting a garden may seem daunting but planting tiny seeds and caring for them is truly rewarding. Gardening is an excellent activity for both adults and children. Nurturing another living thing brings a sense of responsibility. There will be times of frustration, but growing plants is a reminder to be present in the moment. If you don't have a Green Thumb and can't seem to keep a cactus alive, head on over to your local Farmers Market for fresh produce and pretty flowers.

Road Trip7. Take a Road Trip

In case you haven’t heard…Americans work too much. Use your vacation time and hit the road this summer. Explore! Pack what you need, get your car checked by a mechanic, and create an epic podcast playlist—we recommend checking out Armchair Expert, especially We Are Supported By...(*hint, hint). Traveling forces you to step out of your comfort zone, get away from everyday stresses, and learn skills. Plus, it’s incredibly liberating!

Read a Good Book8. Indulge in a Good Read

Summer is the perfect season for kicking back in a lawn chair and reading a book that lets you escape from reality. Who doesn’t love a plot-driven novel that’s just pure joy? Once you’re done reading it, pass it along to a friend or neighbor!

Impactfully Repurpose9. Impactfully Repurpose

If you've been searching online for the perfect summer dress, head to your local thrift shop. You never know what you could find! Some items still have price tags or have barely been worn. If you're short on time for shopping, consider having a clothes swap with your friends. You don't need to spend a fortune to have style; plus, repurposing is environmentally friendly!

Karaoke10. Try Something New

What's the one thing you've always wanted to do? Is your inner adrenaline junkie itching to zipline? Are you ready to level up your morning shower song and hit the stage at a karaoke bar? Or do you want to slow down and enjoy the peaceful hobby of crocheting? Now is the time to start checking off your bucket list.
